Impact

The project will provide 50 new affordable housing units for families, creating stability, opportunity, and community connection in one of Calgary’s most dynamic neighbourhoods.

Larkspur is coordinating the planning, design, and construction of a new affordable housing development in the Bowness community of Calgary. Our role includes guiding the project from early visioning through detailed development, overseeing design teams, coordinating consultants, and ensuring alignment with both regulatory requirements and community needs. In parallel, we are supporting the funding strategy and applications, including engagement with municipal, provincial, and federal partners, to secure the capital necessary for successful delivery.

The project is being delivered through a construction management approach, enabling transparent cost control, collaborative decision-making, and the flexibility to respond to evolving conditions throughout the build. This approach also supports stronger integration between design and construction teams, reducing risk and improving efficiency.

Groundbreaking was in June 2025, with occupancy scheduled for October 2026. Once complete, the development will increase access to safe, stable, and family-oriented affordable housing in a neighbourhood with strong community connections and local amenities.

Larkspur Projects is located in Calgary, on the ancestral and traditional territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy — the Niitsitapi peoples, including the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, and Amskapi Piikani. We also acknowledge the shared lands of the Tsuut’ina (Dene) and the Îyârhe Nakoda (Stoney) Nations — Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Goodstoney. This is also the homeland of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, including Métis Nation Battle River Territory, Districts 5 and 6.

The place we now call Calgary has long been known as Moh’kins’tsis by the Blackfoot, Guts’ists’i by the Tsuut’ina, and Wîchîspa by the Îyârhe Nakoda. We recognize, honour, and give thanks to the original caretakers of this land, and commit ourselves to building respectful relationships with the peoples whose histories, languages, and cultures continue to shape this place.
